Pakistan TVET REFORM Support Programme Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform support Programme
HYDERABAD, Dec 14 2013: Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) have launched a sensitization campaignto create awareness among the students of high and higher secondary schools on the importance of technical education & vocational training.
In this connection the STEVTA with the support of TVET Reform Support Programme, which is co-funded by the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Federal Republic of Germany and being implemented by the GIZ, organized awareness sessions in two schools of Hyderabad, where boys and girls were given basic information about TVET opportunities and its importance.
Two one-day sessions were held inGovernment High School (Boys) Society No. 1 Hyderabad and Government High School (Girls) Gole Building Hyderabad on Dec 13 and Dec 14 respectively.In these sessions students of 8th, 9th and 10th class, were given orientation on the TVET opportunities and how they can adopt it as a career path.
First one day sensitization seminar was attended by more than 120 girls and 180 boys’ students of class 8th, 9th and 10th. The Director School, Director STEVTA, Principal of the school and teachers are also attended the sensitization program.
Director STEVTA addressed the session and explained the importance and role of the technical education and vocational training in present scenario. He said that such awareness sessions and discussions forum should be conducted at every high school. During question and answers sessions boys and girls showed very enthusiastic and asked questions regarding technical education and future of the training, on they were briefed about the training and future of the technical education.
