Pakistan TVET REFORM Support Programme Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform support Programme
ISLAMABAD: Feb 20, 2014. Fisheries Development Board (FDB) launched a project of technology transfer through training and technical backstopping in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in collaboration with the TVET Reform Support Programme, which is co-funded by the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Federal Republic of Germany, and being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Many fisheries experts, government representatives, fish farmers, fishermen, and representative of international development organizations participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest of the ceremony Seerat Asghar, federal secretary, Ministry of Food Security & Research, appreciated the efforts of FDB in promotion and development of the fisheries sector. He assured that the Government of Pakistan was fully aware of the potential of the fisheries and aquaculture sector and was working hard for its development through all available ways and means.
Faisal Iftikhar, CEO, Fisheries Development Board highlighted the ongoing program and future plans of FDB and sought support of all stakeholders for the development of the sector.
During the technical session Muhammad Junaid Wattoo, Project Manager, gave a detailed briefing on the project and its implementation plan. The workshop participants also worked on the development of Curriculum for the trainees.
Faisal Iftikhar, CEO FDB, in his closing remarks appreciated all the participants for their participation and sharing their experiences.
