Pakistan TVET REFORM Support Programme Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform support Programme

ISLAMABAD: National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has launched a major in-service training programme for vocational and technical teachers across Pakistan.
Launched with the technical assistance of TVET Reform Support Programme (TVET RSP), the programme aims at training of 100 lead trainers, who will later train 10,000 vocational and technical teachers employed in different public and private institutes.
Opening ceremony of the training programme for the first batch of 20 lead trainers/e-tutors was held here on Tuesday at National Institute of Science and Technical Education (NISTE). The NAVTCC Executive Director Tariq Shafi Chak, Principal Advisor TVET RSP Dr. Julie Reverie, officials from Ministry of Professional and Technical Training and NISTE also participated in the ceremony.
The TVET RSP, co-funded by the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Federal Republic of Germany and implemented by German Technical Cooperation-GIZ is supporting this initiative.
The training of the first batch will be followed by three more batches to complete a total number of 100 lead trainers. These trained lead trainers will later on train 10,000 TVET teachers/instructors employed in the training institutes from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgat Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Islamabad Capital Territory.
Training is being imparted at NISTE, while international training experts have been involved in the training delivery process. The lead trainers, after getting five week training will go back to their regions and start training of TVET teachers according to a rotation programme developed by regional Technical Education and Vocational Authorities (TEVTAs) and Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) to complete the training of 10,000 TVET teachers, as planned.
