PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Technical and Vocational Education organised a two days workshop for developing an action plan to promote skill development in the province.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training Reform Support Programme, being administered by GIZ with financial contribution from the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germany, facilitated the holding of this workshop.
Besides a large number of stakeholders from both public and private sectors, Provincial Minister for Technical Education Mehmoodzeb Khan also participated in the workshop and gave their input on how the forthcoming action plan can be made in line with National Skills Strategy.
Participants of the workshop discussed various aspects of the existing training delivery system of the province and worked out recommendations for the action plan.
Recommendations of the workshop will be further fine tuned in a core committee, which consists of relevant officials and sector experts. The provincial government is expected to shape its future sector-specific plans in line with these recommendations.
